The Committee :

The Committee of Alliance Française de Bulawayo actually comprises the President, Charles Bhebe (pictured), the Vice President (Sian Maseko), the Treasurer (Brian Jones), the Secretary (Jane Morris) and five ordinary members (Vincent Ballon, Veena Bhana, Agnès Lesage-Possolo, Owen Maseko and Agnes Muzondo). Committee members are individuals elected from the members of the Alliance Française during an Annual General Meeting. The Committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss cultural, teaching and administrative issues pertaining to the Alliance Française. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to become a committee member.

Alliance Française de Bulawayo Staff :

The daily affairs of the centre are managed by the director, Fabien Invernizzi and his administrative assistant Lovejoy Masendeke. The organisation of classes is conducted by Alfred Zulu, Director of Classes.

Pic Fabien Fabien Invernizzi :

Born in 1974 in Avignon, Fabien holds a Master’s degree in French Modern Literature and a Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language. He has worked at the Alliance Française de Lusaka (Zambia), Alliance Française de Pardubice (Czech Republic) and is currently director of the Alliance Française de Bulawayo.

Previous directors of Alliance were Julie Franco, Delphine Ruggeri and Eric Leveel


Pic Zulu Alfred Zulu :

Alfred Zulu was born in Tsholotsho in 1954. He started teaching French in 1990 after completing his studies at Hillside Teachers’ College. He has also successfully completed a Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language. He taught at Milton High School for ten years and at Christian Brothers’ College for six years. Alfred has been a visiting lecturer at the Bulawayo Polytechic School of Hospitality and Tourism since 2000 and Director of Classes at Alliance Française de Bulawayo since 2003.


Tafadzwa-pic Tafadzwa Masendeke :

Tafadzwa holds an honours degree in French from the University of Zimbabwe. She worked at Alliance Française de Bulawayo from January 2010 as administrative assistant. Tafadzwa is also responsible for our library and she is the person to contact for all information and enquiries.


Pic Moma Moma Ndhlovu :

Bonjour, je m’appelle Moma Ndhlovu. I’m from the Democratic Republic of Congo and I have been living in Zimbabwe since 1993. French is my mother tongue and I invite you all to make the most of my expertise and come and learn French from a native French speaker. A bientôt à l’Alliance Française de Bulawayo !


Pic Nyaradzo Nyaradzo Svosve :

Bonjour ! My name is Nyaradzo Svosve, I’m 25 years old and I am a qualified French teacher trained at Hillside Teacher’s College in Bulawayo. I enjoy anything that has to do with French. I’m always ready to help you with your French and all you have to do is to show up at Alliance Française de Bulawayo. A bientôt !


Rutendo-pic Rutendo Penduka :

Bonjour à toutes et à tous. Je m’appelle Rutendo Penduka, I’m a 24 year old Zimbabwean and I trained as a qualified French teacher at Hillside Teacher’s College in Bulawayo. J’adore le cinéma et la musique. I look forward to being your French Teacher and to sharing my passion for French language and culture. A+


Guillaume Ripaud :

Bonjour à tous. Je m’appelle Guillaume Ripaud, and I am a twenty one years old French student. In France, I am studying political sciences in Rennes (Brittany) but I am originaly from Paris. I am here in Bulawayo for a six weeks internship. See ya !


Caretakers :

Alliance Française also employs two caretakers : Eckem Dube and Mbonisi Khosa.
